Derek’s Beliefs

Firstly I would like to say it is my belief that there is no such thing as death.  What we experience at the end of our physical life is merely a transition from one world to another.  At the end of our time here we return to the world of spirit from whence we came.  Our body is merely a vehicle – something that we inhabit for the duration of our time here, only to discard when we reach the end of our physical lives.  What happens to these physical remains is of little regard.  It matters not whether we are burned or whether we are buried, the process is merely a “clearing up” of our earthly garb.

At the moment of passing on, and in some cases just prior to that time, it has often been noted that people will talk of seeing close family members who may have passed away many years earlier.  They will speak of having conversations with those family members.  I can recall my own father having a long conversation with his long gone father, my grandfather, apologising to him for not being able to attend his funeral.  I can remember to look of pure joy on my father’s face as he talked to his mother.  She had passed away when he was a young boy of eleven years.  The fact is that these family members have drawn close when physical “death” is imminent in order to escort the spirit of the person in transition to their rightful place in the heavenly state.

It is also my belief that at the end of our lives here on earth we undertake our journey on to the world beyond, i.e. the world of spirit where we are reunited once more with all the people who we have known and loved in our physical lives here on earth.  After this brief reunion we are taken to a place of rest and recuperation where we recharge our spiritual batteries.  I refer to this time as “the sleep state”.  It is dependent upon the manner of our passing as to how long this period of recuperation will last.

Once we have been renewed we are then given the opportunity to review our time here on earth.  Have we achieved the goals we set out to achieve before incarnating in to our earthly lives?  Do we wish to return quickly to a physical life or do we wish to remain in the spirit world for a time?  The choices are ours but ultimately we all work towards our own soul growth.

Before we incarnate into our earthly life, before we are even physically conceived, when our spirits are still resident in the world beyond, we are given choices.  Those choices concern our lives here on the earthly plain…..  What we want to achieve, the experiences we wish to undergo and what we want to make of our spirit selves.  The ultimate aim for any spirit is to ascend to the higher spiritual realms – to gain soul growth. To achieve this we have to ensure that we have had as many experiences as we possibly can, both good and bad, in our earthly incarnations.  The harsher the experience the higher our true self climbs on the spiritual ladder. In subsequent incarnations we may choose an easier lifetime here on earth.  When this easier life time comes to an end we still become closer to God but will only have climbed one “rung” as opposed to the many “rungs” achieved by those who have undergone a harsher physical experience.

I cannot omit that it is also my belief that animals pass on to the world of spirit in exactly the same manner as we humans do.  They undergo a similar transition and meet up with us once more when it is our time to pass on to the world beyond.

Some may say that it must be very crowded up there in heaven, what with all the millions of people and animals who have passed away since time began.  We do not of course exist in our physical form but as a spark of the infinite.
